A maschine11/25/2022 ![]() ![]() Worth noting, though, that this is only a slight nitpick. The singular slight fault I found with the unit’s build was the 4d selection dial, which felt light and almost slightly wobbly. ![]() The eight touch-sensitive knobs on the unit feel out of this world, with an inert and buttery-smooth feel. The buttons are all rubber and have a pleasant click to them. The pads are superb, rivaling the infamous Akai pads easily. The top and bottom plates of the unit are coated in metal, which is ideal for durability. The MASCHINE+’s build quality is fantastic. However, its current price and CPU efficiency are slightly concerning factors. The Plus takes advantage of this and offers a completely computer-free installment, sporting access to the entire NI library of plugins and packs. The MASCHINE+ functions just like other Maschine controllers, which are so in-depth that their users seldom even glance at their computer screens. However, that finally changes with the MASCHINE+: a standalone version of the Maschine MK3. Until now, all Maschine units required a laptop to function, serving as highly in-depth MIDI controllers for the Maschine software. And this is happening in Ableton, Reason, and in the standalone Maschine application.Native Instruments‘ Maschine range is a series of “beatmakers” – production hubs designed for sketching and fleshing out tracks in a simplified workflow. But this is all 100% owned, above board, same for my DAWs. I might add that I've never pirated any plugins, only because I can see how that might complicate how Maschine is reading things. Is there any way to purge the lists in Maschine of any plugins and instruments that I don't have installed on my computer? I'm almost certain that it's user error on my part but it's just extra hurdles to make music with this awesome device. I guess I could just sort by Vendor every time, but that seems like an unelegant solution. This is also happening in the FX section - there's several dozen Waves plugins being read by Maschine, but none of those plugins are on my computer anymore. The Waves were at one point, but Battery for example never was. There's nothing differentiating them from the products I do own - Massive, Helios Ray, Electric Vice, Maschine Factory Library, etc - so sorting by Types or Characters means that 8/10 patches give me a load error because they're from Battery or Komplete or Waves, none of which are on my computer. There's also a handful of old Waves VSTs that I've long since uninstalled - Bass Slapper, Bass Fingers, Electric88, Clavinet, EGrand80, Electric200, Grand Rhap, Mark 1 all show up. Battery and Komplete Elements are two examples of instruments that show up under All Instruments, but I don't have a license for those and so have never installed them. Maschine tries to load plug-ins I don't have installed or have a license for. ![]() Apologies if this is one of those things that has been discussed extensively, or should be in a different section - I'm fairly new to the community. I've had Maschine 2 for a couple years now and something has really been holding me back, so I'm hoping to get some perspective here. I've been a musician for a couple decades and dabble with beatmaking. ![]()
